Does 2,4-D Weed Killer kill the weeds and the seeds that belong to them, or just the weeds?
I haven’t put down grass seed yet because I’ve just put down some pretty strong weed killer. My question is does 2, 4-D weed killer kill the weeds and the seeds the belong to them, preventing further growth, or does it just kill the weeds? i don’t want to put down grass seeds and have the weed problem in the spring if the weed seeds aren’t dead. Thanks!
You’re OK for 2 reasons. 1 – it is a selective weedkiller (kills the weeds, not the grass) and 2 – it is a contact weedkiller (it has to touch the weeds themselves) as you have only just sown the grass so it won’t be in contact.
