what is the difference between a moonflower and a morning glory?

i have these flowers and i googled it because it has very pretty heart shaped flowers. but im not sure if they are morning glory or moonflowers. they are a deep purple and the more inside u go, the lighter it is. i was thinking they were moonflowers seeing as theyre not blooming right now in the sun but so are a few other flowers of mine because its very hot currently. i would like to know how to tell the different. please be nice with your answers, ill appreciate it. also it seems either morning glory or moonflower can have effect like lsd or it said so in a website but im not sure if its true? id like to know so i can know to keep my pets away just in case. sorry for the long explanation. if u read it all thanks. (p.s. if this seemed ignorant to u, theres no need to say so. i dont know much about botany so yeah….) anyways thanks for reading i hope u know the answer =D

Moonflower, Ipomoea alba and morning glory, Ipomoea purpurea are closely related plants, two different species of the same genus. Their main difference is the color,, white like the moonlight and purple to blue like heaven in early morning just before sunrise.
