Does the bride’s bouquet have to match the “colors” for the bridesmaids and wedding scheme?
My fiance and I were planning to get married in Jamaica, so I worked very hard with a floral designer to create the perfect artificial bouquet for our tropical, summer wedding. It cost $150 (which for us right now is more than I wanted to spend). Well now we had some very last-minute changes to our plans, and we’re now having a wedding at my dad’s house. I decided to go with the colors I’d been wanting for many years – dark purple and sage green. My bridesmaids’ dresses are dark purple. Our wedding will be in an outdoor tent, with an indoor/outdoor reception this May. However, I can’t afford to replace my bouquet, and it is fuschia, bright purple, bright orange, and bright green. Will it look completely ridiculous? I’ve been to several weddings where the bride’s bouquet didn’t match the wedding colors, but this is so bright and the other colors are darker. What should I do?!

What you have is PERFECT! I am always trying to tell brides that not everything needs to match. So many think that if the bridesmaids dresses are green, that they also need green flowers. NOT true! It’s best to have something that will contrast. The colors in your bouquet will compliment the dark purple dresses and will really pop in your pictures. Keep what you have…it’s absolutely perfect.
