Choosing A Star Tattoo Design
Instead of the rebellious symbols they once were, tattoos are now much more intimate, personal expressions. It is now popular to design one’s own tattoo instead of choosing from the designs the artist owns. Star tattoo designs are not as simple and common as you may be inclined to think. There are numerous potential designs, and your imagination is the limit when it comes to creating an original tattoo. Not being artistic should not stop you from designing a tattoo, as there are many tools and resources available to aid you with this task.
Ideas For A Star Tattoo Design
Though star tattoos usually follow a general pattern and style, there are a large number of potential variations. While there is no limit to the number of points your star can have, most have between four and seven, with anything greater than seven considered overkill. With too many points, it may be difficult to recognize your artwork as a star. If too many points are added, you will have a sun instead of a star.
You may come across websites or people that advocate shooting star designs. As with other tattoos, many variations exist so you can customize it into something that fits your personality. A shooting star features artwork representing cosmic trails and dust particles. This style is best suited for your shoulder blade, or your lower back, right above the jeans line. Less common but still possible, it will still look impressive on the wrist, above the breast, or arm.
Do not limit yourself to just a star; other objects can be incorporated as well. To really accentuate your tattoo, consider a moon or a sun. Don’t think that objects found in outer space are the only appropriate complements, as you can use anything you like, from a family crest, to a flower, to a sword.
Stars can be either monotone or color, but color tattoos have become the much more popular choice recently. Many people decide upon multiple colors for their star, and others choose to have the entire range of one color. A basic design with a single color or tone is still the tattoo of choice for some people.
