Best method for making opium poppy tea?
I am attempting an alternative withdrawal method from heroin, I am going to brew codeine from poppy tea, does any one know how many seeds I will need to match my tolerance?
Does anyone know if hot or cold water is best for brewing, citric, vinegar or alcohol?
I have read wikipedia articles and others, but they aren’t much help, need someone who has tried it PERSONALLY!
Thanks in advance.
The other answer works alright, but if you’re set on making poppy tea instead extracting codeine from codeine pills, then you need a source of poppy pods. Store bought poppy seeds have their morphine washed off – you’ll need literally kilograms of seeds to feel anything, especially with an opiate tolerance already.
Pre-washed seeds are hard to find. However a lot of online stores, including people on ebay, will sell poppy pods for “home gardening and decoration purposes.” They’re perfectly legal to buy. Just slice up the pods and steep in boiling water as you would any other tea. I’ve heard of using acid, because apparently an acidic solution extracts opiates from the pods better; personally I think it’s just useless hype. If you want to try though, add maybe a teaspoon of white vinegar to the water; you probably figured this already but do not just brew the pods in vinegar!
No idea how much to use to match your tolerance though – that depends on how much heroin you use, and how much drug is in the poppy pod which can vary tremendously. Just go with 1 pod for a pot of tea first and see what it does.
