Safari Perfume – Ralph Lauren Fragrances For Women
Safari Perfume for Women is one dazzling chypre fragrance from the perfume house of Ralph Lauren. Its floral notes intermingles with green accords – notice the abundance of opulent flowers and intense dryness that permeates. Such contrast creates a dualistic harmony on the overall appeal of the perfume. It’s not like the common sweetness of contemporary fragrances that flooded the perfume market in the 90s.
This floral powerhouse is a versatile fragrance. The heavy florals at the beginning of the notes may be a tad too overwhelming but there’s more to expect after the opening notes subsides. The beauty of Safari perfume lies on how the vetiver, moss, styrax and Tonka rise to the occasion and assume a well-blended piece of floral masterpiece. Rich, feminine and devoid of the mediocrity of its peers.
The top notes are composed of galbanum, mandarin, hyacinth and aldehydes. The middle notes bring out an overture of flowers featuring rose, lily of the valley, narcissus and iris. The base caps it off with vetiver, moss, Tonka bean and styrax.
According to a review from one fan from fragrantica.com, “Admittedly this is not a mild scent at first spray and it does not change into one after the top noted fade down. It is a bold brilliant concept with the use of an almost bitter marigold note in the opening. As with any chypre, Safari delivers a lot of mossy green, earthy and cool especially when blended with vetiver and cedar. Overall a wonderful creation by Dominique Ropion and an everyday summer scent for me. It is a womanly classic in a sea of girlish fruity florals!”
Safari is associated with summer and the spirit of freedom for the adventure-seeking individual. While it doesn’t hide the fact that it may come off as stronger than your regular perfume stash, it’s one of those not-your-typical-floral-fragrances type because it can charm its way by projecting sensuality despite its casualness. It’s a class of its own.
