Questions about Bride & Bridesmaids Bouquets?

Just wondering about what other people are doing. I guess the answers could be different for the bride and bridesmaids to all, so I’d love to hear about what you are planning or what you actually had at your wedding:
what type (nosegay, hand-tied, cascade,etc) are you having? what type are your bridesmaids carrying?
Are you keeping it to one color or mixing them up?
Did you go with 1 flower or several different flowers?

How did your choices work if you had a variety of sized bridesmaids? Did you give bigger bridesmaids larger bouquets or same size for them all? Was your MOH different from the bridesmaids?

I’m revisiting the whole flower issue again and really need to come up with ideas – - – eek!

From your question i’m guessing that you have soe ideas for what you want but once you really started looking for quotes etc you got thinking more seriously and found out all these additional questions so rather than suggesting something specific i will just let you know what i have done.

My gown has a very fitted bodice that accentuates my hourglass shape so i chose a large teardrop shape for my bridal bouquet.

To make my bridesmaids different their bouquets are mid sized posies. All the same size regardless of the girls individual sizes. They are natural stemmed meaning the binding doesn’t cover the ends of the stems.

My flowergirl has a post half the size of the bridesmaids.

All the bouquets are made with two shades of pink roses (one light, one dark) and purple dendrobium orchids scattered through. For example the bridesmaid posies have 6 dark pink roses, 6 light pink roses and 5 purple orchids in each posy. My bouquet also has an orchid trail forming the point of the teardrop. To give you an idea of proportion my teardrop when held level with my belly button has the lowest ochid bud hanging just above my knees and is 15cm wide at the top. My bridesmaids bouquets are 15cm in diameter and the flowergirl bouquet is about 8cm in diameter.

My Mate-of-Honour has a pale pink rose buttonhole and is carring two long stem roses (one dark, one light) individually tied with pink and purple ribbon. At the end of the aisle he will split his bouquet and present one flower to each of the mothers so that his hands are free to hold my bouquet during the ceremony.
