How do they decide where are the games played in a series?
In the NBA Finals, Dallas Mavericks started out with an advantage. They were scheduled for more home games than away games, and all sports series have the same dilema. My question is how do they decide who gets lucky and has more home games? Especially since so far as of Jun 19, the series has been stirctly home court advantage. Would a win by Dallas be as glorious as a win by Miami since they started with a disadvantage.
Home court advantage is decided based on initial seeding, with the higher seeded team having home court advantage. In the finals, where the two teams were not seeded against each other, the team with the better record gets home court advantage. Normally in a 7 game series, games are played as follows for the higher seeded team (H=play at home, R=play on the road)
