Beginner planting a Cosmos seed?

I am a tenderfoot trying my gardening skills for the first time in flowering! I have planted lettuces before and got 4 limp harvests. I stumbled upon some flower seeds in the supermarket yesterday and saw these wonderful cosmos seeds, they say that cosmos are the EASIEST seeds to germinate and bloom! I live in the Philippines and it’s currently raining here, since it’s mid-July. I already have pre-fertilized pots, they’re placed inside our garden shed and it’s well covered there. I was just wondering. . . What’s the recommended temp. to be able to germinate a cosmos plant well. And HOW to plant and care for a cosmos plant. And can anyone please give me a good gardening website, the website I’m joining is not that friendly and it’s very hard to navigate. A step-by-step procedure will be most helpful. I wanted to surprise my mom with a cosmos garden!!

A few things to remember about cosmos.

1. They like to be ignored.

2. They like sandy, poor soil.

3. They like full sun.

When starting from seed, keep them watered until they sprout.

Fertilizing them is not necessary, but if you do use one for flowers, as you will get more leaves than flowers.

The dryer, and hotter, the better. They originate from Mexico.

I would be concerned if it rains alot where you are. Try them anyway and see what you get!
