question for nutritionists…?
I love to snack on trail mixes, but the pre-bagged ones usually have too many ingredients I don’t like. So, I go to the grocery store and make my own from the bulk bins. I was wondering if I gave the list of ingredients, would anyone be able to give a guesstimate as to the calories and fat per 1 cup serving?
In order of greater amount to lesser, I put in…
hulled, unsalted pumpkin seeds
raw, unsalted sunflower seeds
dried cherries
craisins
chopped, unsalted walnuts
raw, unsalted cashews
raw, unsalted almonds
unsalted macadamia nuts
dried apriocts
Thanks for the help!
I don’t have a good guess for you but your mix is healthy and high in protein. The “worst” item on the list fat wise is the cashews, they are the ones with the most fat oils in them. I wouldn’t worry if you don’t add a bunch of them, the benefits you get are worth the calories. Don’t eat this for every meal, but for a quick snack or energy boost, you’ve got the recipe!
YOU are my Pumpkin… (bread that is)
