Backyard Soil for Indoor Use?

A couple questions for ya…
1.Can I use any weed seeds to grow a plant? Like can I get it from a friend that has a plant?
2. Can I use soil from my back yard to grow a weed plant? or do I need to buy it..
3. Germinate? I can do that by putting the seed in a paper towel and keeping it moist right?
4. And how deep do I put the seeds in the pot??

i would think you can grow almost any plant from seed.

I wouldn’t use backyard dirt for inside.

any plant will do much better in a potting mix. you really need that to grow a plant well.

You can germinate on a paper towel. I prefer to put straight in to the pot, so I dont have to disturb the new plant.

i haven’t grown this seed. I would just lightly cover seed with potting mix and keep warm, the sun or light and moist.
