how does it take on average for seeds to germinate?

im using the paper towel method and the seeds may or may not resemble marijuana seeds.

I have never found it difficult germinating with a paper towel. What I did was I wet the paper towel in dechlorinated water or preferably water filtered by reverse osmosis (you can buy at an aquarium store for about a buck for 5gallons or you can buy bottled water) fold the towel and place the seeds at the fold, allowing space for the little roots that will pop out. Seal the towel in a zip lock bag and in about 40 hours it will be ready to plant. I get a 99 percent germination rate by doing this.
