Do you have green soybeans in India, the ones the Japanese call “Edamame” and the Chinese call “Mao Dou”?
Namaste
I would be very interested. I have friends in India who are farmers.
Green soybeans are such a super-teriffic bean, so full of protein
(much more-so than the little yellow ones) that I would like to get my friends to grow them … a real treat for vegetarians who do have difficulty getting enough protein.
I can get seed for green soybeans here where I live (in the States),
but I would prefer to use Indian sources, since it is a little expensive to have seed sent internationally.
Also, if you do use them in your cuisine, could you tell me what sort of dishes you make?
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
p.s. Do you use Val Dal / Vaal Daal? I found some lovely fresh beans once in a large market one summer in Bangalore… they were delicious … I don’t know about their protein content but they certainly are a treat!
