Why does my angel fish Change colors with light?

It is a white Angel fish with black vertical bars. when it is dark he develops the black stripes. But when the light is on he turns white and the color in his body and fins dissapears. What kind of angel fish is he and why does he do that?

Angel fish are cichlids, a group of fish that will often change their colors based on mood and stress. My guess would be that the lighting is affecting your fish in this way, and that it is nothing to worry about.
