Potting Shed – A Great Gift Idea

For people who love gardening and are devoted to it, nothing can be more important for their work and enjoyment than having a proper place for their potting and storing of the gardening tools and implements. If you have parents or grand parents devoted to gardening, gifting them a potting shed for their garden would be a fabulous idea which they are sure to love and cherish all their lives! This could be a birthday present, mother’s day, father’s day or wedding anniversary gift. You can bring joy and peace in the life of an elderly family member, with this thoughtful, loving gesture, which they surely deserve!

For lack of proper storage space, many a time an elderly gardener will use his/her garage for storing the gardening tools, bags of topsoil, pots, fertilizer, everything required to make flowers and plants grow!  Or he/she can have a truly trying time, using the laundry room or kitchen sink for all the gardening work.  And the gardening tools keep on accumulating, seedlings sprout, there is transplanting, storing bulbs, and so many activities that many a devoted gardener never have enough space or room for doing all that they wish to do.

This is the reason all gardeners should enjoy having a potting shed of their own. A potting shed is also a great place for just getting away; a space specially designed to store all the supplies, tools, ideas and dreams for the garden.  The larger tools can be hung on the wall, the smaller tools can be put in clay or ceramic pots placed on shelves. You can add plastic bins for storing the extra soil and fall and spring bulbs.

Some potting sheds are so designed as to resemble small cabins or cottages, with greenhouse areas for sprouting the small seeds. It is essential that a part of the potting shed should have enough light streaming in, so that you can start growing seeds or small plants before putting them outside; if they get enough sun one can start them even before the planting season because being inside, they are protected from the weather conditions.
