What kind of magic is possible from amaranthus caudatus flower?
The other name for this flower is “Love-Lies-Bleeding”.
Medicinally, it has been used as an astringent and to treat menstrual dysfunction (although I’m not sure how effective it is). Magically, its used for protection, fidelity, longevity, and transformation of grief. In some (probably older) versions of the Aphrodite-Adonis myth, the flower which springs from Adonis’s blood is amaranth rather than anemone – which makes sense since Adonis was originally analogous to the Semetic dying-and-rising (and therefore immortal) God Tammuz.
