how do you read bittorrent information such as peers/seeds?

Hey everyone, so I use utorrent, and I was just wondering what the numbers listed under seeds and peers mean.

for example, listed under seeds for a torrent i have: 1(4)
and under peers i have: 49(215)

what does the numbers outside the parentheses mean and the numbers inside the parentheses mean?

1(4)
1= seed connected to you
4 = who have completed the download and is seeding the file

49(215)

49= others (leechers) receiving the data you have
215= total number of people attempting to download the same data

You are connecting to 49 of the (215) attempting to download the file.
