Basil seed help!?

I need to identify survival strategies, including seed structure and germination triggers, of basil (Sweet basil or Ocimum basilicum). By the way, I need a lot of detail.

The one disease I’ve encountered while growing basil has been Botrytis…which shows up as a grayish mold appearing on stems and leaves. I’ve used a product containing “Chlorothalonil”, which can be found at most nursery/hardware stores. When you see this disease, remove the infected leaves and spray the soil and entire foilage every 7 days.

A way to prevent Botrytis and other foiliar diseases is to use a foliar Calcium. Calcium will strengthen the tissues of stems and leaves, therefore making it more difficult for the diseases to become established. Calcium can also be used to spray the blooms of tomatoes, squash, zucchini, etc. to prevent Blossom-end Rot.
