Dear Daylily Friends,

On October 27, 2004 Barth daylilies was sold to Fieldview Farm, LLC in Dresden. This change will enable Barth Daylilies to greatly expand its selection of daylilies for sale and new varieties. The new owners, Dave Popp and Jim Peterson have many years behind them in the agricultural and horticultural world.

Dave Popp owns and operates his family farm, Popp's Strawberries. Jim is an owner of Sonshine Growers of Maine, LLC. By uniting to form Fieldview Farm / Barth Daylilies, our hope is to build a living garden center where you can visit the gardens and choose from the best northern grown, winter hardy daylilies and other perennials. We have lots of plans to make Barth Daylilies the best ever.

Nick Barth will stay on as an advisor to Fieldview Farm and will continue hybridizing on Fieldview's property, exclusively for Fieldview Farm, for the foreseeable future.

The new farm is located on ten acres in the well-known Dresden Farmlands, along the banks of the Eastern River. The farm is just off of Rte 128 on the Glasheen Road and is visible from Rte 128. By the start of the growing season we will have our new road signs in place to help you find your way.

The transfer of the daylily plants will begin in earnest this spring with the digging and dividing of the 450 varieties in the display garden area, all other introduced and un-introduced N. Barth varieties and the move and replanting of some 245 N. Barth 2003 hybrid seedlings. The remaining daylilies will be dug and replanted by November 2005.

Thus, during the 2005 season and beyond, Fieldview Farm (Barth Daylilies) customers will have the opportunity to purchase a huge selection of Barth Daylilies many of which have never been for sale. In addition all N. Barth hybrids will be introduced at Fieldview Farm (Barth Daylilies) including six more in 2005!
